Every individual is the subject to globalization. For a different purposes a lot of people travel from one country to the other. On the other hand, people uses different social media for communication, entertainment, educational purposes, and for political purposes. Today I would like to speak to you about one of this thing which is Globalization and its pros and cons.
I am one of the students who traveled across the continent for educational purpose. I understood and experienced cultural, educational and political differences among countries. I would like to tell you the definition of globalization, and the pros and cons of globalization in general.
To begin with, what is Globalization? And what is global environment? Perhaps the most important reason why the global environment has become more open and competitive is the increase in globalization. The global environment is the set of force and conditions in the world outside an organization’s boundary that affect and shape its behavior. Globalization is the specific and general forces that work together to integrate and connect economic, political, social systems across countries, cultures, or geographic regions. Money, technology, culture, society, politics and environment are the main factors which brings the whole globe together. Specially, the development of Science and Technology led to increase globalization. Many Social Medias became so popular and many corporations are using them for different purposes. Now a days Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Tumblr, Pinterest, YouTube, Instagram, Vine, WhatsApp, are being used and have been used by individuals, families, different groups, different organizations for communication, entertainment, and for business purposes. Those Social Medias are helping individuals to communicate with one another, to share ideas and find solution for different problems. As we see now a days, politicians are using Social Medias like twitter and Facebook in order to address their thought to their supporters. As a result of globalization, personal political decisions which are being made by individuals are affecting the entire world and are affecting the relationship between countries. For example: Terrorism and Nuclear weapons are the big threat for the world. Globalization could be an opportunities or a threat to the developing countries and for those countries who are at the top. When we look at the pros of globalization, as mentioned by Mike Collins on “Manufacturing.net” website, it promotes global economic growth, creates jobs, makes companies more competitive, and lowers prices for customers. For developing countries, infusion of foreign capital and technology, democracy and human rights may flourish. Free movement of labor- helps to enhance individual’s skills, abilities and experiences and it helps companies to improve their products and services, processing of outsourcing- involves contracting with another company, usually in a low-cost country abroad, to have it perform the work activity the organization previously performed itself, such as manufacturing, marketing, or customer service, free trade- which is one of the topics during a debate whether it is economics or politics, is also another benefit of globalization. While successful companies are benefiting the most out of it, the rest of the world such as, developing countries, are losing the benefit. Jobs are lost or transferred to lower cost countries, which is the problem for developed countries. Cultural interference is also a big
