The Older Americans Act has undergone major transformations in scope and authority since it’s original passage in 1965. Large-scale responsibility for the operation of services has been difficult to keep up and obtain since the broad mandate of Title I of the act. The Older Americans Act has come into a crossroad since it cannot indefinitely maintain the expansion model it followed during the 1970s.
