My prior knowledge of college has always been that, colleges seek perfection and will not consider a student unless they exemplify that trait. According to esteemed author and dean of admission at Pitzer college Angel B. Perez, “perfection doesn’t exist, and we don’t expect to see it in a college application” (Par. 4). This quote exemplifies how students are constantly lying, and appearing to be something they aren’t just because colleges have set the precedent that students must be perfect. For example, it can be difficult to choose a college because of all the options that are available. It’s important to see the future prospects, like if the college will have your major, or all classes available for you to graduate. The atmosphere must also be taken into account. A person would not want to attend a Buddhist school if they are not a Buddhist themselves, that is why research is always useful. In my high school career, I have taken many positive actions to prepare me for the future. My whole high school career, I have taken AP courses like AP United States History, and AP Language and Composition. Passing the AP tests showed me that through hard work, responsibility, and staying on top of my duties, I can be extremely successful. I am currently an intern for Jeff Denham for U.S. Congress, which allows me to gain communication skills, initiative, and responsibility, all better preparing me for my life after high
