Good Will Hunting is a story about a young man who overcomes his demons brought on by a childhood of psychological, physical, and emotional abuse in order to better his life and pursue his natural talents of mathematics with the help of his relationships. Throughout the story we are introduced to three of his most important relationships, the one with his psychologist, his best friend, and his love interest but in my point of view his most important relationship is with Chuckie, he is the main person that pushes Will to pursue better interests at the end of the film. First of all, throughout the movie, we see Will passing time with his group of friends, they eat and drink at bars after work, also play a little ball to pass the time. Most of Will’s actions are directed towards Chuckie because he usually aims his attention towards him. For example, when they are at the Harvard bar when Chuckie approaches Skylar and her friend, Will swoops in to defend him from the man that is confronting him. Will always talks to Chuckie first when discussing his personal life, he talks to him about Skylar and his therapy sessions with Sean showing how Chuckie is an important aspect of Will’s life. They work together and Chuckie is always giving Will rides to their …show more content…

This statement is true because when people take the time to actually listen to others, they find a way to do something that will contribute to mankind. Quiet people have really loud minds and they wait to express themselves when the time is right. In the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, the author shows examples of how the quietest people are often the most powerful. Never do they see themselves in each other but hate each other’s most common qualities. And for some unusual reason when they actually do become aware of their “common” qualities they automatically change. Using the lame cliché line of “I didn’t know that how I looked [to others]”.…

Despite growing up in a rough neighborhood in Boston, having a lack of formal education and currently working as a janitor, the main character Will is a mathematical genius. While on the surface the movie is about this unlikely boy genius with unlimited potential, who can outsmart MIT professors while constantly being dragged down by his attitude and poor decisions, the story is in fact much deeper. Rather it is about Will’s personal emotional journey which he embarks on during this film.
