“People used to say that boxing is for men and not for women, and I thought I will show them some day. I promised myself, and I proved myself” (Kom ). Mary Kom is an Olympian Boxer that is a five-time World Amateur Boxing champion and the only woman boxer to win a medal in all six world championships. Now that women are able to play male dominant sports and succeed, they should be allowed to play on the same team as male athletes. Therefore, female athletes should be able to play any sport they want with male athletes. To begin with, having females and males participate together will strengthen the typical female athlete. By having females play on the same team as males and attending the exact same practices than women will have a harder …show more content…
If women play with male athletes then society will see how important equality is and how women should be treated equally just like how men are treated. The site states, “Gender equality in sports has always been a controversial topic. Even the founder of the modern Olympics, Baron Pierre de Coubertin, said in 1896, “No matter how toughened a sports woman may be, her organism is not cut out to sustain certain shocks” (Pavlovich). This shows how gender equality is important for all sexes and even for women athletes. To this day all rights are not equal between men and women, but if more women would speak up or if women athletes start playing with male athletes than maybe society will notice that women are strong enough and powerful enough to make a change in this world and that we deserve more than what we have and deserve equal rights that men have and women don’t. We need to speak our minds and speak for what is right, wrong , and speak for what has to change in this world, including equal rights for all human beings living on this planet. The site states, “Focus, determination, pain, disappointment, excitement, suspense, anger, relief: it’s all a part of the game whether you are a man or a woman” (Spewak). This quote shows how females are just as brave, strong, and determined to play a sport just like men no matter what gender we are, women should have the …show more content…
Girls and boys get injured in sport, whether they are playing against or with athletes of the same sex or not. To the extent that factors such as height, weight or strength pose safety concerns, steps can be taken under existing law to equitably address that risk based on those particular characteristics, rather than resorting to preconceived and stereotypical assumptions about whole genders”(Terry). This shows how men and women should be able to play on the same team and that we are strong enough and have the same or better skill than men. Gender shouldn’t matter and neither should strength because women can be just as strong as men. It will take more effort, but it can be accomplished. Since women are capable of becoming strong like men we should be appreciated as much as men for our hard work that we put in to become strong like men. So we should not be judged by our gender and we should be allowed to play with guys on the field, track,

Should women be allowed to play on male sports teams? I think that women shouldn't be allowed to because of safety requirements, and sexaul harassment which would both be a big issue. First of all, male sports are aggressive and safety would be hard to avoid. They would have a high risk of injury, concussion rates in the last year have rose over 20%.There are many different kinds of injuries you can suffer while playing a male sport like you can overheat and pass out, you can tear your ACL or MCL or you could even overuse your body and strain it. Injuries are very hard to avoid and a male's body is built to take a lot more than a girls so our injury rates would increase if the females joined our team because the males are 30% stronger than females which means we have more muscle to protect us from injury.…
