Ohio brings challenge to the fourth amendment. A landmark case is a court case that is studied because it has historical and legal significance. In Mapp v. Ohio police were suspicious that Dollree Mapp might be hiding a person suspected in a bombing in her home therefore they barged into her house pretending to have a search warrant. The police found a trunk containing pornographic materials. The police then arrested Mapp and charged her with violating an Ohio law against the possession of obscene materials. After losing an appeal to the Ohio Supreme Court, Mapp took her case to the U.S. Supreme Court. When brought to the U.S. Supreme court they determined that the evidence obtained through a search that violates the Fourth Amendment is inadmissible in state courts. (”Mapp v. There will be many more cases to come that dispute what the fourth amendment protects and what is does not. All in all the fourth amendment is a very important amendment for
