Essay On Central Nervous System

The nervous system is composed of two main parts which are the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system. The central nervous system includes the brain and nerve cords like the spinal cord while the peripheral nervous system includes the motor nerves and sensory nerves. There are two main types of support cells in the nervous system which are glial cells and neurons. The neurons' function in the system is to receive and send electrical signals. The glial cells provide insulation and regulation to neurons. Some examples of the glial cells are astrocytes and oligodendrocytes. There are three main types of neurons which are composed of sensory neuron, motor neuron, and interneuron. All three neurons are made up of dendrites, cell bodies, and axons. The sensory neurons detect sensory information from the outside environment and are the main factors that make up the five senses such as smell and taste. Nervous tissues form a …show more content…
Not only that, nicotine can also affect your thyroid hormones, pituitary hormones, sex hormones and adrenal hormones. It constricts blood vessels, increasing the blood pressure and stimulating the heart, and raises the blood fat levels. What the nicotine actually has, is it is all just poison if you really think about it and examine what one single cigarette has in it's ingredients. Cigarette smoke is a combination of lethal gases, carbon monoxide, hydrogen cyanide, and nitrogen and sulfur oxides and tars, which contain an estimated 4,000 chemicals all in one. If you actually think about it an injection of these chemicals put together even one drop would be deadly. Nicotine can lead to addiction and towards worse remedies many people might not know but why put your body at risk why not prevent it and live life on the safe side and be

It is composed of two sections: the central nervous system, which includes the brain and the spinal cord, as well as the peripheral nervous system, which is responsible for transmitting signals from the central nervous system to target cells within the body. The nervous system is comprised of neurons, or nerve cells, that rule how an individual will respond to a stimulus. Sensory neurons, such as the ASE neuron, receive a stimulus from the internal or external environment through dendrites, and convert the stimulus into a signal that is sent into the central nervous system (Urry et al. 2013). Interneurons located within the central nervous system serve as a bridge between sensory and motor neurons, which determine one’s physical responses to stimuli (Urry et al. 2013). Through a lattice of neurons, organisms are able to perform various tasks that are meant to deter them away from stimuli or encourage the interpretation of…

The muscular system is the system of the body that contains smooth, skeletal, and cardiac muscle tissue. This system contains a variety of functions including movement of the body and of materials throughout the body, maintenance of posture, and heat production. Muscles are the only tissue in the body that have the ability to contract and therefore move the other parts of the body. The muscular system is important because without it, life would completely stop. Muscles produce not only voluntary movements but involuntary movements such as breathing, digestion of food, pumping blood etc.…

The first main system is the central nervous system which consists of the brain and the spinal cord. There are three main sections of the brain; the forebrain which contains the cerebrum and the parts of the diencephalon (the thalamus, hypothalamus, and epithalamus most importantly), the midbrain which is a part of the brain stem, and the hindbrain which consists of the medulla oblongata, the pons, and the cerebellum. The cerebrum, the picture on the right hemisphere of the model’s brain, is the largest part of the brain and consists of four lobes; the frontal lobe (in purple) which is responsible for reasoning and planning, movement, emotion, and parts of speech, the parietal lobe (in blue) which is associated with movement and the processing…

The Central Nervous System is the most important organ system in the human body because it is how we control our body. It consists of the spinal cord, nerve cells, and parts of the brain (Organ System Skit). “The nervous system takes in information through our senses, processes the information and triggers reactions, such as making your muscles move or causing you to feel pain” (How Does the Nervous System Work? NCBI). In addition, when the body wants to move, the brain sends a message to the part of the body that wants to move.…

I chose to focus on the Nervous System. The Nervous system is made up of the central and peripheral nervous system that are linked with one another to create sensations throughout the body. The Central Nervous system is made up of the brain and spinal cord, while the Peripheral Nervous system consist of nerves that are enclosed in axon that connect the Central system to the rest of the body. Both the brain and the body can transmit signals from to the other, however, the names differ depending what does the sending. Nerves that send signals from the brain are called motor nerves, while nerves that are sent from the body are called sensory nerves.…
