Drummer Boy of Shiloh. These will both have two young boys. These young boys go on an adventure. Here are the statements I will make. In Drumbeats and Bullets a young boy enlisted at fifteen. After running away this young man was 11 and later on he decided to join the army. His name is Johnny Clem and he was a drummer boy. He took roles as carrying people off the battlefield and helped lead the way with his music. Later in the story his drum was destroyed, so he bravely took a musket and started to fight for his side in the war. He was later known as

Honor. In the Drummer Boy of Shiloh there was a 14 year old boy. He was a little different from the other boy because he actually carved and riveted his own shields for the battleground and to keep himself safe most of the time. His name was Joby and he seemed shy most of the time.
They talk a lot more about artillery than the other book which was a difference. Some similarities are that they were very young boys. In the story he talks about a peach blossom falling from an orchard tree. Late in the story Joby asks his general what he think will happen in the war, the general says "Oil creek was full of boys splashing around in the noonday sun just a few hours ago. I fear it will be full of boys again, just floating, at sundown tomorrow, not caring where the current takes them. The general is basically saying that he thinks that there is going to be a lot of casualties. They both eventually fought in the war. They both put their lives at risk when the armies needed them most. They both helped lead and keep the group together and did extra deeds while not fighting.
