Erik Impact On Paul's Life Essay

A choice is a decision that is made by a person in a situation. Ever since my brother was born, I have had to make better choices so he doesn't make the same mistakes I have made. Erik has been the complete opposite of what i'm trying to be because Erik is a horrendous role model and has made bad choices that Paul had to deal with . Erik’s choices have impacted Paul's life ,self concept and relationships.

Erik’s impact on Paul's life has made his life melancholy in so many ways. This paragraph will focus on the most important ways his life was impacted by Erik. For example in the book it stated “Erik pried my eyes open while Vincent Caster sprayed white paint into my eyes”. Erik impacted his life by helping Caster make him legally blind. Another example is when Paul stated to his dad “I don't mind if you never pay attention to me for the rest of my life”. My first example is when Erik made fun of his friends by saying “I think it's funny that farm labor kids get to spend a day away from the fields”. Tino got mad and stood up for himself and was hurt physically by Erik . So now Paul was having a hard time gaining his respect and having a stronger relationship with Tino because of Erik. The death of ”Luis Crus is another way Paul's relationship is ruined due to Erik starting a fight with Tino. This caused Luis stand up for his brother and Arthur as a result killed Luis. Therefore, his relationship is both strained and is prematurely ended with Luis’s death.

In conclusion, Erik’s selfishness and hatred towards his brother Paul impacted his life in many ways. Paul life was forever changed physically,emotionally and socially making him feel like a loser , having a bad self concept,and making his life full of melancholy .If you’re going to impact someone’s life; I would advise you to impact it in a good
