Although very different, I believe these two jobs are of equal importance to teachers. In my opinion, if a teacher lacks any sort of compassion or interest in their students, they are doing a poor job. As a teacher I would be sure to show respect for the students and genuine concern for their learning. I would avoid making my class seem more challenging than it really is, because I do not believe in frightening students into learning. Instead, if one shows that the subject can be understood, the students will feel encouraged to try and succeed.
