Most complex organisms develop from specialized reproductive cells (eggs and sperm in animals). Two reproductive …show more content…
That is, the epigenome changes more rapidly than the relatively fixed DNA code. An epigenetic change that was triggered by environmental conditions may be reversed when environmental conditions change again.
Epigenetic inheritance, provides some of the experiences or genetic coding of the parents may pass to future generations. “At the same time, the epigenome remains flexible as environmental conditions continue to change. Epigenetic inheritance may allow an organism to continually adjust its gene expression to fit its environment - without changing its DNA code” (Epigenetics and Inheritance, 2016).
In my opinion Epigenetics and Inheritance is an amazing genetic survivor ability gene that helps protect the genetic lifeline of the family’s DNA sequences for generations. I wonder if this process is part of the genetic link that help the great leap forward in our intelligence as humans. We went from Neanderthals to a hybrid species that went from brute strength to intelligence and the development of our modern world. Epigenetics and Inheritance (2016) Learn. Genetics.
