Working as a physician, I quickly realized that I could be more effective in solving health problems if I integrated a public health approach with my clinical background. Subsequently, I earned a master’s degree with a focus on global health and a doctoral degree with a focus on psychiatric epidemiology. As an aspiring medical epidemiologist, I hope to serve in a capacity that can inform policy, improve services, and ultimately reduce burden of disease. Throughout the course of my career, I gained experience in a wide variety of topical areas including birth defects, chronic conditions, infectious diseases, and injury.
