For example, the book Enrique’s Journey describes the path of an illegal immigrant, Enrique, from Mexico to the United States. For Enrique, happiness meant getting to the United States and finding his mom; however, he had to take many risks to achieve his goal. Enrique risked being caught by the police patroling the park to call his mother. During the call, Enrique “could feel her love. [. . .] At the other end, his mother finally cries” (Nazario). Enrique risked a lot to get this far, but talking to his mother filled him with blissful emotions. Another time Enrique took a risk for happiness was riding on a freight train to the United States.
