Not only does Emily’s Pub serve up delicious, mouth watering meals, but they also come with a side of history. Emily’s Pub, located in Mohnton Pennsylvania, first opened up in 1827 as a hotel post office. Emily’s pub remained a hotel until 1977 when Charles Orlando purchased the property. In the same year, Steve and Nancy Mooney took over the building, naming it Emily’s Pub after the ghost that is said to reside on the building.
Emily’s provides a whole different atmosphere than I was used to. The place was old, with flickering lights, and squeaky floors, but it had a lot of character. I was very happy about my meal. I would like to give a kudos to the chef, Timothy Lachman, for making my stomach really happy Tuesday night. I started off my meal with fried calamari and a rice ball. The fried calamari was tough, I probably would not order that again, but the rice ball made up for it. Topped with a creamy lemon sauce, and cooked to perfection, the rice ball was a favorite of the night. Well, I might have spoke too soon because the salmon I got as my meal was very delicious. It was parmesan encrusted salmon, served over mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. I truly do not have a single complaint about my meal. Now, that I probably have your mouth watering, I have to finish up with my personal favorite, my dessert. The famous question was asked “Now did you save room for dessert” and in my family the answer is always “No there is no room, but I will have the..” I finished off my meal with a vanilla bean creme brulee, which was torched right before my eyes. Perfectly glazed on the top, and perfectly creamy at the bottom, the creme brulee was one for the books. I could have ate it 30 times over. I was very impressed. All in all, my three course meal was
