If she decides to have an abortion, some resources need to be put together as locations, education on abortion procedures, and the emotional repercussions. If she decides to keep the baby, discussions about finances, employment, prenatal and postpartum care, healthcare, support system, stress levels, drug use, and nutrition need to take place. Lastly, if she decides to give the baby for adoption, addressing the previous resources needed plus adoption process is imperative. After Emilia determines what she wants to do, we would move towards addressing her relationship with her parents.
It is very important to identify the potential problems Emilia will encounter. Depending on her decision about her unplanned pregnancy, a plan in action designed by her, with the necessary resources, will help her find solutions, find her strengths, feel empower, and perhaps move towards resilience.
