Imagine Hilter or someone of great power coming up to you with one of his “great ideas.” This wonderful idea of his is to find a way to create German people with blonde hair and blue eyes, the super race of the world. How could you imagine a way to do this? The conversation might go something like this.
“Josef, you are one of the most talented physicians in Germany, I need your help. What I have done is start to eliminate the Jewish population; it is a wonderful thing and it will make the world a better place. But what I need from you is to find a way to repopulate this world with blue eyes blonde haired people- and fast. Can you handle this?” exclaimed the mighty Hitler. “Sure. But how would I do that? And how would I be able to do that

Twins of course. I know you have worked with them before so you would be perfect. They would be the best way to repopulate this mighty earth that I have created! It’s genius! Instead of women having one child at a time we could figure out a way for them to have two. Double the people!” “Alright I think I can handle that. Where would you like me to find these twins?” “Aushwitz, there will be thousands of people coming through there at one time. We can have someone at the entrance directing the twins directly toward you. You are allowed to do anything you would like with them, I don’t care if they end up dead. Just do what you have to do.” Josef Mengele was born on March 16, 1911 in Gunzburg Germany. He was the eldest of three sons. He was a very attractive man, well groomed and clean. He studied philosophy at Munich and medicine at Frankfurt University. In 1935, Mengele earned a Ph.D in physical anthropology. In January 1937, at the Institute for Heredity Biology in Frankfurt, he became the assistant of Dr. Otmar von Verschuer, a scientist known very well from his research with twins- which is where it all …show more content…
The twins that did not live died in an awful way. When the twins were considered useless after the experiments, they were killed brutally. Lots of times, if one twin died Mengele would kill the other twin for comparison of the organs. If he had performed the same experiment on them, he looked to see how it affected them differently. Sometimes the twins were killed just because of an argument between two SS officers about human anatomy. “There was a special dissection ward where autopsies of murdered camp inmates were performed.” (holocaust 1). Some of the ways Mengele killed them included gassing, injection, hunger, or even shooting. He would often offer one of the twins or both of them a ride in his car, then he would shoot them as they were walking out to the car, or he might take them directly to the gas chamber. For injection he would either use Phenol or Chloroform. It was a quick way to die and quick for Mengele to begin his work. He poured the solution into a bowl and then filled a large needle with the solution. The patient or twins arm was positioned so the back was arched and the chest was completely open. The right hand was usually put over the victims eyes. The needle was then driven between the fifth and sixth rib, resulting in an almost instant death.

Mengele's experiments were the equivalent of torture and at times had no purpose then to satisfy his own curiosity. Human experimentation began after all of the “living data” was gathered from the inmate, which was discussed above. In one of his experiments, recalled by a warden of the experimental block, Mengele impregnated a girl with the sperm of another twin. He pampered her during her pregnancy and even attended the birth, but once he figured out that there was only one baby, he immediately tore the baby from the mother’s uterus and tossed the baby in the oven. The same warden recalled she saw German soldiers cracking the skulls of babies with the butt of their rifles on Mengele’s order, presumably babies born without a twin ("Auschwitz Survivors Recall Horror Of Nazi Experiments.").…
