The principles of goal setting applied in this case was extremely useful in producing an optimum level of result on the employees performance. As Health Information Services (HIS) departments constantly bombarded with changes while performing their main duties and responsibilities. In addition, the introduction of electronic health records had affected the nature of work in the every department. The action plan implemented by HIS department is crucial as part of its goal setting in order to motivate their employees who are suffering from work loads and misalignments as a result of changes. What were the outcomes of job enrichment in HIS Departments?

The outcomes of job enrichment in HIS departments have positive and negative outcomes to this health care organization. The positive outcomes are first, it could increase job productivity. Second, employees satisfaction to their designated jobs. Third, it gives them a sense of pride in a new given task that will stir their motivation. Lastly, it will improve the qualitative performance of the employees which translates to better results.

On other hand, the negative outcomes of job enrichment are first, it could view as a stressor for the employees who are given additional tasks aside from his/her designated job, this will create a work overload. Second, employees consider it as an action that will intensify only their job stresses rather than to reduce it. Lastly, too much autonomy granted to workplace could contribute dangers to the organization especially if it allow employees to access even to highly sensitive company informations.

Furthermore, the outcome of job enrichment could be beneficial if it is successfully match properly in the current work environment if not it could contribute only dangers to the healthcare
