The blue and white colors to represent the colors of the United Provinces of Central America.
-This is a Union of Central America after they had gotten their independence from Spain
El Salvador’s flag includes all equal bands
These bands go from the color dark blue,then white inbetween and then another dark blue band
The coat of arms is placed in the center of the flag
The coat of arm includes a triangle with five volcanoes, these volcanoes represent former member of the Central American union.
The red had that tops a staff is called the Phrygian cap this cap represents liberty.
Behind the Phrygian cap is a sun that had beaming rays around that is the date of El Salvadorian independence

These flags represent the five states that where part of the United Provinces and how they were connected till they broke away from Spain’s rule
Below the coat of arms is there state’s motto- Dios, Union , Libertad meaning “God, Union, Liberty
Around the National coat of arms words read “REPÚBLICA DE EL SALVADOR EN LA AMÉRICA CENTRAL”
This means the Republic of El Salvador in Central America
The flag etiquette is very strict- their flag etiquette insures that not one country is higher or more important than another
Their flag can never be dragged on the ground
If a flag is destroyed in must be replaced with a new flag
Overall El Salvador’s flag is mainly used to represent their freedom from Spain as well as the other five
