This is one of the most important things that I can do to be a great mom. “If there is anything that makes ENFPs great parents, it's the sense of wonder they have for all things new and beautiful, a sense that they will be able to share with their children every day as they learn and grow. Throughout their children's lives, ENFPs provide a combination of almost overwhelming love and support, and an unstructured environment revolving around freedom and creativity. This in no way means that people with the ENFP personality type will simply leave their children to their own devices without guidance – rather, ENFP parents want to share in their children's perspective, share in a world without bounds.” (ENEP Parents) According to this quote, I will always know when my kids are getting bored and will be able to help them learn new things about the things like oceans and the stars. Woman role in the American workforce has changed dramatically since the late 1900’s. World War II revolutionized societal stigmas, where men are no longer seen as the primary “breadwinners” and women as just “homemakers“. Today an increasing number of women have ignored the traditional path of getting married and having kids before 30 to seek paths that can lead to career and educational advancements. As a result, many laws have changed to allow both married and unmarried working mothers the opportunities to continue to work to financially support themselves and their families during and after giving birth. While working parents have access to unpaid childbearing or family care, Secret (2000) found that among 343 employees, about 194 would…

My book that I read was “A mother’s reckoning.” This book described and culture and empathy in two parts. The first part of the book took you through empathy and how she felt when she found out her soon was a shooter and how she handled it. She reached out to the victims and wrote letters to many of the parents, some took it as an apology, others were enraged by it and called for her arrest because they looked for somebody to blame. The second part of the book talks about our culture today and how we treat kids in our school.…

In Bonnie Fellhoelter essay she argues that a stay at home mom is a better person to teach their child what’s right from wrong “since [mothers] naturally want what is best for her child” (paragraph 2). Although I do agree with Bonnie Fellhoelter statement “society truly does begin at home” but I do not agree with that a mother should have to stay at home just to teach their child morals (paragraph 2). By using logos, she states, “according to a non-partisan Public Agenda survey in 2000, roughly 80 percent of parents with children 5 and under say a stay-at-home parent is best able to give the children the affection and attention they need” (paragraph 3). In addition, she also uses the sweeping generalization stating that “a study done by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), reports that, kids in non-maternal care tend to be associated with qualities such as “gets in lots of fights,” “cruelty,” “explosive behavior,” “talking…

I completely agree with this article, because I am a women and a mother as well. I know once I graduate and start working, I would like to be able to provide more for my son. While my husband and I are both looking for good paying jobs, I believe it is important that we each make enough money to support ourselves. I know in the near future we would like to have another child, but the fact that I will most likely need to put my baby in daycare really does not sit well for me. Having paid maternity leave would really help a lot of mothers out there who wish to start a family, but it seems like their job does not fully allow them.…

“The Myth of Doing It All” Pre-reading: The expression "having it all" could have different meanings; it represents what a person is missing, and of course everyone has different necessities. No one has all in this life because nobody is really satisfied with what they have; while an individual has a lack of money, time, peace, love, health, etc., other individuals may have it, but they will be lacking something else; even the wealthy people do not have all. As a regular person, my mother and I do not have all; people tend to have many wants, and the expression "have it all" is very broad. The word "all" sounds tentative, but we have to know what is all? Motherhood has a far reaching effect on all aspects of a woman’s life and the personal ramifications of this newly adopted role are not those which can be thoroughly planned for. The transition to motherhood can alter a woman’s identity, her responsibilities and priorities and how she interacts not only with other people but interactions with her lifeworld. Even in more modern times, the stereotypical role of a woman continues to be idealised as a traditional homemaker and carer to her husband and children, further propelling the myth that a good mother is one who stays at home with her young children (Gorman, 2002). This representation of women being natural mothers who are fulfilled with the role of nurturer and selfless carer is in stark…
