It could have been one of the first lifeforms of earth, before human existence, possibly predating dinosaurs. Experts still know so little about it. For a long time, no treatment existed, and its origins and even the disease itself were unknowns. Preston says, “We don't really know what Ebola has done in the past, and we don't know what it might do in the future.”
The Hot Zone is extremely descriptive when it comes to discussing ebola, oftenoftening describing the symptoms in vivid detail. For this reason, I would only recommendrecommended this book to those truly interested in learning about the disease. For those squeamish around blood—beware.
Adding to that, I don’t believe this book should be a part of the freshman curriculum next year for the sole reason that some people will not be able to handle the violent details included in the book. I believe that the curriculum should involve books that everyone would be comfortable reading.did you feel comfortable reading this book?
