Throughout the multiple Tim Burton films I have seen, is that in just about every movie or short film made by him has a unique directorial style that you can tell the movie is by Tim Burton. In the movies Alice In Wonderland, The Corpse Bride, and Edward Scissorhands all start off with eerie music that engages you into the movie immediately along with the incredible imagery and appearance/makeup of each character throughout the films. In the films Alice In Wonderland, The Corpse Bride, and Edward Scissorhand all start off with eerie music, while the main character is introduced into a new setting in their world. During Alice In Wonderland, Alice gets introduced to Wonderland at first the music is eerie because of the puzzling world compared to her reality world, but when the queen of hearts captures multiple of the characters she leaves the scene destroyed, dull, murky, somber, and shady. Along with The Corpse Bride, Victor gets introduced to the dead community “downstairs”, as the film continued I noticed that “downstairs” music was always eventfull, and entergetic as the scene went on. In conjunction with Edward Scissorhands, Edward gets introduced to the world outside of his castle. So in the end in the movies Alice In Wonderland, Edward Scissorhands, and Corpse Bride all of the characters that are outcasts have a bleak, somber music choice throughout the film. But also in the films Alice In Wonderland, Edward Scissorhands, and the Corpse Bride all has a unique imagery in the background of the scene. In Edward Scissorhands I noticed that throughout the movie Edwards home was dark and gloomy no matter what time in the day. I also noticed in the background of the town looked very suburban all of the houses were bright and colorful and everyone did just about everything the same. likewise in the Corpse Bride I also noticed during the film that “upstairs” was dark gloomy as …show more content…

Additionaly in the movie corpse bride Emily had a torn, shredded, ripped wedding dress. Her veil was shredded, and frey. Victor had a tux that is ripped on his arm by his biceps by the near-end of the movie when Victor is going to give his life up for emily to be free, the spiders patch up the suit with their silk thread. Victor has pale skin, short-medium hair and a frantic, scared/nervous face throughout the entire movie. Based on Emily and Victor you can tell immediately when you see them that this is a Tim Burton film because of their long spindly arms and legs and emily's long twisted, spindly curly hair. In the depths of a mansion high on the hilltop, stands a solitary figure hidden in the shadows. A “man” named Edward walks out from the dark corner, looking curious and lost with a pale face covered in scars. Edward, an unfinished creation, is left with scissors as his hands, who has been living in the big mansion alone after the death of his inventor. In both Tim Burton’s Edward Scissorhands (1990) and Corpse Bride (2005), the characters were relatively ‘different’ from those that they were surrounded by, therefore making them strange and considerably odd in the eyes of people they came in contact with- there was sympathy, pity, indifference, sacrifice, attraction, jealously, repulsion, understanding, fear, and prejudice surrounding both these characters as they discovered the real world. Both films are extremely fairytale-like, which contrasts with their more adult themes, which convey a universal truth about human nature or life if looked onto. These are the stories of an uncommonly gentle man and a grave misunderstanding. In both Edward Scissorhands and Corpse Bride, the main protagonists,…

After some rewatching of Extra Credits' Spooky Playlist, I've thought of a idea. The main idea is merely a symbolic sound, reaching with the psychological trees they stated (Self, Uncanny, Other)... Everyone is familiar with certain machinery or instruments making music, having a liking of a genre or 2+, and overall other things in their life. The way I think this would be different from other Ambient works is that it's more than sound patterns and such that inflict emotional manipulation, but something more of how a horror game or movie is made.…
