Although we know this is just a theory how can we all be so sure that William Shakespeare was the man and not Edward de Vere. Edward de Vere did write poetry, and maybe just maybe Shakespeare took the copyrights for all his plays. We can not really say if this is true or untrue. We were not there in that time period. Not only is there theory on the copyrights but also on the queen. Many think she was a man and it is a story told that is over years old. She was known as the virgin queen because she did not marry. Was it because she did not want to? Or simply because she could not? This raises many eyebrows still. This just shows that the theory could possibly be true. After learning about this theory I myself do no believe that William Shakespeare wrote all of his poetry and plays, not only because of the theory, but simply because there is no answer. Us in the modern day could not possibly know if it is true or not just as stated before. So from now on I will think of William Shakespeare’s work as

Many famous writers including Mark Twain have doubted that given his lack of formal education Shakespeare would have been capable of writing the works he is credited with authoring. Because of the lack of definitive proof, it is very easy to speculate that Shakespeare did not write his own plays. Shakespeare grew up in Stratford upon Avon with a loving mother and father. The Oxfordian theory is one of the strongest supported theories of this dispute. The Oxfordian theory suggests that Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford, wrote the plays and poems claimed by William Shakespeare. This theory further explains the claim that shakespeare's authorship is a fraud and suggests a realistic theory to replace it. In the article; "A Historic Whodunit: If Shakespeare Didn't, Who Did?", William Niederkorn states, “ The Oxford theory, by contrast, has never been stronger. In 2000, a Massachusetts scholar successfully defended a dissertation based on the premise that de Vere wrote the Shakespeare canon.…

The nineteenth century Shakespearean authorship question proposes the theory that William Shakespeare the Stratford man, was essentially not the author of the well-known Shakespearean plays. This theory in attempts to provide an answer to the question: “If it was not Shakespeare, then who wrote the Shakespearean plays” gives the response of a plethora of different prospects, now most common Edward de Vere Earl of Oxford. This conspiracy however, produces far more questions than it offers answers. William Shakespeare the Stratford man is indeed the author of all the Shakespearean plays, this can be proven through history, reason, and the overarching idea that more evidence is against Edward de Vere being the author than evidence that advocates this theory.…
