Durkheim Social Control

Education plays a huge role in our soicety and also controls the way individuals behaviors work through certain ways of life and communicating ideas and values to the new generations. Ways that they do that is they develop educational systems to train younger generations and the young must be consciously trained for their roles as adults in society to transmit its social hertiage and surivive as a social order or we might not extist without it.

Social Control which Durkheim believes that educatiom carries the command of the sociey and enforces those commands on boith teachers and students in order to offer adquate knowledge into young minds maintains itself thorugh various mechanisms such as indoctrination which is teaching a person or group to accept a set of beliefs uncritically also informal sanctions and formal sanctions play a factor becuase theu use informal sanctions which include shame, ridicule, sarcasm, critcism, and disapproval and formal sanctions which prevent establishment of chaos in society, It also teaches students the boundaries of acceptable behavior. …show more content…
