What is a drum with out a head? Is it still a drum or is it simply just a shell, and is it still useful without a head? If the drum has no head dose it even matter what quality of wood that was used to carve the waves on the inside? The answer to all these questions is heads, then would be no purpose for them, and that is one of the many reasons that drum heads are so important to people who play any type of drum. Drumheads are an essential part of drumming; there is something you just simply have to have that’s why drumhead-manufacturing companies are so important. Drummers like to look good and sound good, but for the most part they want to sound good. What they have to do is find what brand of drums they like to play whether its Tama, …show more content…
There are many different drumhead companies out there, but there are really only two that really standout and are really elite at what they do. The two companies are Remo and Evans, and both of these companies have been around for a very longtime. There is a lot of hype around both of these companies both, but I think that Remo is the best company. The reasons Remo is better is because they have high durability on all their heads, and their heads last a lot long than any other brands. Another thing that Remo heads do is they hold their tune really well. Evens Drum heads can be too hard and that can lead a real bad sound, they have a decent …show more content…
One of the main problems drummers have with Remo heads are that they have a bad ring or high pitched ring after you hit the drum, so most drummers use moon gels to take the bad ring out of the drum. Now some of Remo heads ring worse than others, and that’s a good thing if you are one of those drummers who like more ring in their drums. See Remo and Nike are like in a lot of ways which isn’t necessarily a good thing Nike is a very popular shoe company and everybody has to have the newest pair of Nikes that are out. If you order something off line from Nike, there it can take up to three months to get what you ordered. While it may not take you three months to get your drumheads from Remo, it does take a while for you to get you heads. It takes Remo heads longer than any other heads to ship its costumers, but the good thing about is that you don’t have to order them off there website you can go into most music store and find what you are looing for. If the heads are not found in the music store then you may have to order them off of Remo’s

Ever since I joined band in 4th grade, people have been talking about how excited they were to join marching band. At band day in 5th and 6th grade, everyone else shared how they couldn't wait until they were a 9th grader and could finally be able to perform and play in the stands like we saw the marching band do many times. In 7th and 8th grade, we had a watered down version of marching band that only played two parades. While I was glad to get snare drum both years, the exhilaration was never there, and I came very close to not joining marching band. But against my will, I ended up auditioning for drumline in April and I got the cymbals.…

This work gives us an idea of what Justinian and Theodora might actually have been like, while giving us an insight to how Procopius could have been treated and his feelings towards the royal couple. Given that Procopius waited to write this piece until Justinian had died, we can assume that he was afraid of Justinian and what kind of backlash may occur if he wrote this piece at a time where Justinian could read it. The title in itself, ‘The Secret History” is representative how Procopius felt about Justinian and Theodora. This is a historical piece meant to give information about the past to different readers, and attaching the word secret in to title indicates that this history was meant to be kept private until the objects of the piece could no longer be involved.…

Being in percussion, during football/marching season, you’re either in Drumline or Pit. Drumline is the section of percussion that marches while Pit is the section that does not. I, as an eighth grader, tried out for Drumline, and was already planning the year ahead expecting fantastic memories. However, I was not fully aware of my skills, or lack of. Anyone else who wants to be drum major is going to be against you. This year, anyone in the Clover Hill Band who’s a sophomore or older can audition. So far, only one person is competing against me: Loren Sims. She has her pros and cons, but I will admit she has one important trait that far surpasses my own: popularity. Popularity does not relate to the qualities of a good drum major, but significantly decides who will be voted for it.…

I do not know how you have felt about this situation, but the state of affairs in terms of percussion has been tormenting my thoughts for the past several months. As Tyler and Patrick are graduating, and rumors of Harley, Ana, and Chase not participating in the program circulate, it is evident that we are going to have a shortage of percussionists in the marching band when we want to further expand the roster. Because of this, I do not feel comfortable in influencing your decision of my placement in the percussion section of the 2018-19 WHS Marching Cadets. I learned a lot from you and B.T.G. throughout my time both in high school and in Woodruff, so I feel I can optimally perform where you feel I am most needed. You know my strengths and weaknesses, so I feel that I can trust you to make the decision that would have the utmost benefits for the percussion section.…

People judge by the noise but don’t know what’s going on in that person and its drums.
