Every Drop Matters
Levi Strauss & Co. and the Center for Biological Diversity have teamed up and identified the top "Water Hog" states in the new Don’t Be a Drip” website, says the Center for Biological Diversity's press release. http://www.biologicaldiversity.org/news/press_releases/2015/dont-be-a-drip-12-08-2015.html …show more content…
I already explained why I'm not a fan, http://www.care2.com/causes/its-free-and-easy-to-shame-your-water-wasting-neighbors-but-should-you.html namely it could pit neighbor against neighbor, and it looks like there's some truth to my reservations. Like June Tangney, a clinical psychology professor, explains to Inverse: https://www.inverse.com/article/7213-california-is-drought-shaming-its-greatest-water-wasters-pointlessly

Here are a few easy tips from Don't be a Drip http://dontbeadrip.org that will add up, save water and save wildlife:
1. Flush the Toilet Less -- Save the Coho Salmon: Did you know that almost half (45 percent) of home water usage occurs in the bathroom and that toilets alone waste 27 percent? http://www.conserveh2o.org/toilet-water-use Older toilets are some of the worst offenders since they can use "3.5, 5, or even up to 7 gallons of water with every flush." Think twice before flushing.
2. Re-wear Your Jeans -- Save the Salt Creek Tiger Beetle: You don't even have to think about this one. On its own, laundry accounts for 40 percent of a household's water use. Don't be a Drip recommends re-wearing your jeans 10 times before washing.
And on that note, I'd like to add: Buy less clothes. http://www.care2.com/causes/how-to-be-a-sustainable-fashionista-without-spending-lots-of-money.html After Big Oil,the clothing industry is the second dirtiest,
