A driverless car will require some crazy technology for them to work. There is a lot of different things that go on when a car is driving itself. Some of the major pieces are radio waves(RADAR), laser beams(LIDAR), and sound waves(SONAR). These types of technology all do something different to figure out how far another car is from the driverless car and prevent it from crashing. The car also uses Bill Robertson talks about it in his article “How Do Self-Driving Cars Work?”. He says, “Each method is used for a different purpose. It is hard to find this kind of information because automakers are trying to keep their research a secret until it is perfected and patented. Level 5 is still very far away. According to John Rosevear in his “How Far Along is Self-Driving Technology, Really?” he says, “But it's likely that most buyers won't be able to buy a Level 4 vehicle until 2021 or 2022 when the systems begin appearing as options on cars, trucks, and SUVs aimed at consumers”(Rosevear). Basically what is being said is that level 4 autonomous driving will become widely available to the public by 2022. As of now there is not estimated time for when level 5 will come to

For example, it can be inferred that because the author is a female, being behind the wheel of a car gives her a sense of empowerment that would be taken away with the future of self-driving vehicles. If this article had been written by a man, the perspective might change because of male standings in society. There is also the issue of the author only addressing one brand of vehicles instead of multiple, such as Ford, Chevrolet, or Audi. The information provided might vary based on the specific companies involved in the future of self-driving cars.…
