A musical is a stage, television or film production utilizing popular-style songs-dialogue optional - to either tell a story or showcase the talents of the writers and/or performers. A musical is made by the tone that starts it off. It includes great singing and dancing, unexpected twist and that one person in the background who always stands out. The musical comic-opera opened on October 19th of 1911 and closed on January 20th of 1912. In the time that the musical ran it ran one-hundred and four nights. They've also been nominated for ten Drama Desk Awards, and won four of them. The show also won a Theatre World Award and a Grammy Award. There are two acts and twenty lightning paced scenes. C.C White, Curtis Taylor, James Thunder Early, Larrell, Deena, Michelle, and Effie are the main cast members. Dreamgirls is the story of three black singers Deena, Larrell, and Effie they have a group called the Dreamettes. Their close friendship and love for singing had them enter a talent show held at the Apollo Theater in New York. Unfortunately they failed to win the talent show and were very disappointed. Though they lost, they attracted the attention of Curtis Taylor, and his connections got the Dreamettes singing backup for James Thunder Early a rising popstar. They soon go on tour and get widely acclaimed . The drama starts when Curtis falls in love with Effie, the leader of the group. He starts to change things and makes Deena lead and Effie the background. Soon enough Curtis switches his love interest to Deena as well, which erupts Effie in a rage. This comedy-romance takes place in present day UCLA and at Harvard Law University. Legally Blonde comes in different type of forms: books, movies, and now a musical. Warner Huntington, Emmett Forrest, and Elle Woods are the three main characters of the ensemble. There are two acts and a total of twenty one songs. Elle Woods is the president of Delta Nu Sorority at the University of California, Los Angeles. Due to rumors Elle believes that her long time boyfriend Warner Huntington will propose to her at dinner later tonight. At dinner Elle waits anxiously for the proposal. Warner breaks the silence of the dinner to say that it's time to get serious and by serious her means, breaking up. He doesn’t believe that Elle is serious enough about her future. After a two-week shutdown Elle realizes that by looking at a magazine at Warner’s brother wedding picture, that he wants a girl like his sister in law. She believes he wants a serious lawyer. Elle ends up following Warner to Harvard and gets in by swaying the admissions office by her belief in love. At Harvard Elle seems like the odd ball out since she is pink and perky. Seeing Warner in class reminds her of why she is here and she loses focus which goes noticed by her professor. Late steps in Warner’s girlfriend who stakes her claim on Warner and upsets Elle.
