Seuss’ works inspired many people and changed the children's book scene. Six years after his death the Art of Dr. Seuss project was launched and sixteen of his books are in the 100 Top Selling Hardcover Books of All Time . Dr. Seuss was known as a children's book writer and made a whole new world of imagination. Ted invented a new alphabet to show that imagination is beyond letters and wrote books to teach kids to think and not only read. Dr. Seuss wrote over fifty books and most of them rhyme in some way. Many authors say that Dr. Seuss was a great influence in their lives and just about everyone has read or seen a Dr. Seuss book. Many people wonder where all these ideas for books come from or what inspires the authors. Most of the books that Dr. Seuss wrote was during the war and “ Yertle the Turtle” was inspired by the rise of Hitler, and “The Sneetches” was inspired by the opposition to anti-semitism, then “Horton Hears a Who” was inspired by a professor, who Dr. Seuss met, that was in Japan when the bombs were dropped. Even though a lot of Dr. Seuss’ inspiration came from historic events, many people wonder about Dr. Seuss’ imagination for the characters and places he wrote about. Dr. Seuss grew up with a loving family and took his career to his best and strove to make his work the best it could be. He wrote according to historic events and illustrated for the world and taught life lessons in his works. Dr. Seuss went into the children's book scene with much talent and left the children's book scene with beautiful works and
