The characteristics of the animals as they pertain to life, war and the novel animal farm using the propaganda technique from the subject of Dr Martin Luther King Jr is the event in the beginning of the book Animal Farm by George Orwell. In chapter 1 we are introduced to the leader of the animals Major. I feel this moment in the book relates to Dr Martin Luther King Jr because they both were giving people hope. As Dr Martin was giving the African Americans hope Major was giving the animals hope. The animals were being opressed by the farmer as the African Americans were being opressed by the Whites. These two relate even more so when you see that Major gave a speech and talked to the animals about a better life they could live than what they

In the book Animal Farm, there are important characters who mimic important people in history. George Orwell writes an analogy, resembling Karl Marx, on how the animals perceive life as human beings and how they are planning a rebellion. One of the main characters in the book is Old Major, an old wise boar, who dramatically changed the lives of the animals on the farm by his engaging proclamation about equality. The speech Old Major presents is a replica of Karl Marx Communist Manifesto. Karl Marx tells the people about how he can bring equality to them, which includes a better world of equality and justice for the people on all social classes.…

Banned From Literature Syllabus The Russian Revolution is such a big part of history and is interpreted in different ways so everyone from all backgrounds will understand exactly what happened. Many books, essays, and articles explain how the fight between Stalin, Hitler, and Trotsky took place but the negativity that highlighted on how they ran their government was criticized because other similar countries are doing some of the same tactics. Governments are feeling the need to censor what the population reads and listens to, and in the process of doing so, they are abusing the power they have. Animal Farm, an allegory written by George Orwell, talks about farm animals rising up and revolting against their cruel leader to become degraded…

In “Animal Farm,” by George Orwell, the fact that both the leaders and the followers, in a society, hove a part in how freedom and equality can be destroyed is shown through the various characteristics in Animal Farm. Napoleon, who becomes the leader of Animal Farm, destroys the freedom and equality with his threatening, strategic ways and exploiting the situation the animals are in. Blindly devoted Boxer, the follower, is a motivational figure for the other animals despite the harsh conditions and with his maxims, the acknowledgement of what is actually going on is suppressed. One of the most educated animals, other than the pigs, is Benjamin who is not a leader nor follower, is aware of what is going on but personally chooses to not speak…

In Animal Farm, one of George Orwell’s main goals was to portray the Russian Revolution of 1917 in his writing through character’s, events, and concepts. His goal was clearly shown in his text because many important people of the Russian Revolution were seen through animals, events that took place in the Russian Revolution were reflected in his writing, and many concepts of the time were shown in a different form. He accomplished his goal by using simpler characters and an easier concept to grasp. Orwell wrote Animal Farm in the style he did to appeal to a wider variety of people but still reflect an important time in history. His objective for making this book an allegory to the Russian Revolution was to show the readers the negatives of…

Final Animal Farm Research In the book Animal Farm, the pigs were horrible leaders who should have never been trusted with a position of power. These pigs manipulated many of the animals to do and say whatever they wanted them to without question. This characteristic is the exact opposite of what a strong leader should have. Martin Luther King Jr. is an excellent example of a strong leader; he knew what he wanted to accomplish and set goals for himself and other citizens.…

As the novel has been told in the perspective of the animals of the farm as a whole (sometimes slips into Clover’s Consciousness), this helps Orwell show the oppression experienced by the animals on the farm, and are portrayed as a mass of loyal, hardworking, but gullible group of animals. These aspects of the animals give Orwell a chance to really show how in an Authoritarian society, oppression does not only rise from the ideals and tactics of the oppressors, but can also come from naïveté from the animals, who, in this scenario, are in no position to be better informed of the situation or further educated. Very similar to the oppression experienced by that of the working class of post-revolution…

In the novel Animal Farm by George Orwell, Orwell expresses how the utilization and abuse of power can affect a union. In the novel he expresses the Russian Revolution in the form of an allegory in which important figures are portrayed as animals. His main characters Napoleon and Mr. Jones illustrate how the misuse of power can lead to corruption and oppression, while Old Major shows that not everyone with power will abuse that responsibility. At the start of the novel, readers are introduced to Mr. Jones, who represents Tsar Nicholas II, as he drunkenly stumbles home after a long night.…
