Double Major Application Essay

Goals invoke a human’s inner ambition, compelling them to achieve what they have laid out for themselves. Whether or not this path is taken, determines if their goals are accomplished. My main goal while at Marywood University is to successfully double major, without giving up. I would like to major in both illustration and biology. To achieve this, I will use the Marywood core values. I will mainly focus on two of them, excellence and respect.
Majoring in science is usually difficult on its own. I hope to be able to double major in both science and art. I want to major in biology and illustration to one day become a medical illustrator or to be in a career where I can combine both art and science. One of my goals is to try and get an internship. My goals for this value are to stay organized, maintain high grades, and seek help when I need it. I hope to do this by setting aside time for my work and study no matter how busy or stressed my life may be at any given time. I will also work hard and avoid distractions. High stress is often difficult to avert, so I will find activities to help balance my life. For each class I have, I will take two hours out of my day for work involved with every one. Such as studying, homework, extra credit, or special projects. I also need to be able to challenge myself by taking more difficult classes. As I progress through college, the harder classes will be added in. Such as higher level art and science classes. Sometimes it is a challenge for me to seek out help. I try to do things on my own without asking others. I know that if I am really struggling I will find resources on the Marywood campus.
