UConnect Hacking Recall

Following a well-publicized hacking of a Jeep over the Internet and the hackers taking control of the same, Fiat Chrysler issued a recall involving 1.4 million cars and trucks. Among the affected models were the 2014 and 2015 Dodge Durango.

Not all vehicles were affected, just those with the 8.4-inch touch-screen tied in with its Uconnect infotainment system. The hackers were able to change the Jeep’s speed and take control of other features, including the brakes and transmission.

Affected Dodge Durango owners can first check if their system is ready for a software update by entering their 17-character vehicle identification number (VIN) on the company’s recall page. For those covered, Fiat Chrysler supplies a USB drive for updating the software.

SGF Reagh confirmed that the well car (BNSF 253800) was mechanically defective; causing the containers to lean. Both containers were loaded into another well car and sent to destination. Organizational Culpability It is mind blowing how one of the Big Three major American automotive companies such as General Motors could neglect such a crucial procedure as reporting a safety issue. Wealth inequality became present, and clear, when the company decided that it would be too costly to immediately fix the problem. Instead, they decided to prioritize their profit over the lives of the individuals, in this case – their customers. The neglect continued for years until they were informed of the first fatal crash. They then tried to cover this up by not investigating it and they still didn’t make the recall until many years later.…

If you were driving the Ford, there are only about 4 airbags in it and they are the high contact ones that can possibly cause worse injury. Say you are at a T-stop, and you are driving your Chevy, and then you're driving and the car at the stop sign did not stop, so the hit your passenger side and your kid is on that side as long as your spouse. The doors are more thick, and the airbags helped from your child hitting their head on the glass window and possibly killing them.
