If you promised someone to take care of their relative because they were dying but, the person they want you to takes care of has a disorder and his disorder is it being able to control himself would you do it? Well George did. George is from a book called Of Mice and Men, he takes care of Lennie a big strong and childish guy. Lennie has a disorder his disorder is that he can not control himself. George promised Lennie’s Aunt Clara that he would take care of Lennie. It’s hard to do what he does especially because of Lennie’s disorder so no one really knows how to control him better is George.George’s way of treating Lennie has kept him out of trouble ever since Lennie’s Aunt Clara passed away.

George kept Lennie out of trouble at the ranch by telling lennie not say anything to anyone there not even the boss. George is always trying to get Lennie a job by keeping Lennie quiet mostly because if he lets Lennie talk then he’ll tell about stuff that had happened. As a matter of fact one way of showing how George treats Lennie is this quote from the book. ‘“ That ranch we’re goin’ to is right down there about a quarter mile. We’re gonna go in an’ see the boss. Now, look- I’ll give him the work tickets, but you ain’t gonna say a word. You jus’ stand there and don’t say nothing.”’(Ch1, Pg.6) Here George is telling Lennie to not say anything about what had happened anywhere else so they will have more of a better chance to get the job. He helps Lennie by getting him a job so he can get paid and he can get himself stuff.George does not want Lennie to tell the boss anything that had happened in weed and he makes sure that Lennie doesn’t say anything by having only him talk. George gives Lennie “hell” by saying things that are mean but he doesn’t mean but he does it so Lennie will be less motivated to do anything bad. It helps George scared Lennie with threatening him with giving him hell. In the book Lennie is scared of George. “George gonna give me hell” he said.(Pg.100)“George gonna wish he was alone an’ not have me bother him.” ‘“ Ain’t you gonna give me hell?” “Give ya hell?” “Sure like you always done before. Like, ‘If I di’n’t have you I’d take my fifty bucks----’”.(Pg.103). Lennie is usually worried that George is going to give him hell but can never really remember what George really does when he does give him hell. So by threatening Lennie to give him hell he doesn’t do anything bad. George’s way of treating Lennie is by being mean but is for Lennie’s own good.
