Abortion by definition is: “The deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy”. Abortion has, and may always be, one of the most controversial topics to exist. Despite the conflicts against it, I believe that women should be allowed to proceed through an abortion if that’s what they wish to do. Women have a long history of inequality, in some cases we’re still struggling. Throughout history you see women who have no control over how to live their lives or control their own bodies. We’ve come far since then, but there are still issues that remain. So, in light of that, I am Pro-Choice because a woman's sexual health, reproductive choices, and personal moral beliefs, are their rights and …show more content…
One may wonder, what is a human being then? Well, a human being (also by definition) is: “A man, woman, or child of the species Homo sapiens, distinguished from other animals by superior mental development, power of articulate speech, and upright stance.” So for murder to happen, by definition, both parties must have a superior mental development, power of articulate speech, and upright stance, it must also be done with an articulated plan; this is why when we butcher animals for food and survival we don’t call it murder. To further prove my point let’s cover requirements for murder over a thirteen week fetus; the most common state of a fetus for an abortion to occur. “89-92% of all abortions happen during the first trimester, prior to the 13th week of gestation.” (http://abort73.com/abortion_facts/us_abortion_statistics) A thirteen week fetus is about the size of lemon with the length of a pea pod (https://www.babycenter.com/prkit-advisoryboard). At this stage the fetus is just starting to develop fingerprints and you can see their organs clearly through their thin skin. By extension, the fetus does not have a superior mental

This conflict over abortion has been controversial for hundreds of years, as most religions are against birth control and abortions. Additionally, many people see abortions as being morally and ethically wrong, but others may see it as a right to any women, or as a necessity to help control population and prevent economic turmoil. Furthermore, the concern over such controversy is even stated as an issue in some literature works such as “A Modest Proposal” by Johnathan Swift. During Advance Placement English III we were talking about our senior projects and an individuals essay was about abortions. I am very pro life and know a bunch of information on topic, so I was giving her ideas on how to structure her essay. She was pro choice, so we had conflicting ideas about what to put into the essay. Since I am so pro-life I tried to explain to her why I am pro-life, telling her that if a doctor preforms an abortions it is okay to everyone, but if the women gets beaten and even if the individual does not know that she is pregnant, the man can be charged with murder of the baby. So if this woman was on the way to get an abortion and she gets beaten, the person can be charged with murder and assault, but if the women gets…

All human beings care for their safety. This is due to their natural fear of death. Especially when people have close, caring, connections with others, their concern for others is just as strong as their concern for themselves. Families automatically have connections, but the love within them is not always there. Mothers who abort their children do not show much love for their child.…

I am pro-choice, but not because I do not value human life, and most certainly not because I hate children. I believe that human life is of the utmost importance, but I also think that women’s rights are essential. It is not inhumane, or unfair for women to seek out an abortion, it is their medical decision, and it is their right to have control over their own body. People state that the mother could simply give the child up for adoption, but that may not be the best option, and there are a number of reasons as to why someone would seek out an abortion. Pregnancies can be extremely costly, and the mother may be unable to afford to keep the child.…

Abortion isn’t murder until at least 24 weeks after conception/fertilization. This is where most people are confused. It 's easy to argue that a baby is a baby but yet at the same time scientifically a human isn 't considered a human until at least 20 weeks. From conception until 24 weeks it 's just considered a sac of cells and given the name “fetus” which normally we refer that name to an unborn baby.…

One reason abortion is a social issue is because people don’t know whether it should be either illegalized or legalized everywhere. Tom Anderson says,” if abortions become illegalized then it will have a significant impact on women and would cause society to become like the third world. ”(Anderson,3) Which he describes as a place where the population suffers from poverty, malnutrition, treatable disease, poor health care, unemployment and lastly a place where women feel little empowerment concerning their reproductive lives. According to the 2012 Merriam-Webster dictionary, an abortion is, “the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus as a spontaneous expulsion of a human fetus during the first 12 weeks of gestation--miscarriage, the induced expulsion of a human fetus, or the expulsion of a fetus by a domestic animal often due to infection at any time before completion of pregnancy.” (Elliot) Abortions; like every controversial issue, will most likely never be agreed upon by the human race. Lastly pro-life people would argue that adoption is a great alternative. A lot of women do not want to go through the nine months of carrying that child.
