With the ever-accelerating updating of science and technology, humans are not content to live only in the real world. We found ourselves travel between virtual and real world frequently more than ever. Virtual world has already become part of our daily routine. It is revolutionizing the way we live and view the world to an unexpected extent. Nevertheless, its benefits still need to be measured against its liabilities when compared to real world. We should not incline to either of these two worlds. Instead, we should learn about their pros and cons and make a judgement that benefits us most.
Although lots of differences exists between virtual and real world in more detailed ways, they are similar in basic form and functions. According to encyclopedia, …show more content…
It is employed in almost every aspect of our life and benefits a wide range of people, including preschoolers, people with special needs and even adult professionals. I think it is most commonly used in our everyday communication. It keeps us in touch with our friends and families as well as keeps us informed of the latest news and events. However, it goes further than this. For example, a supermarket in Germany developed a stuff training program called “virtual supermarket” to reflect the real world. In this way, the assistants can better serve the customers. In addition, virtual world contributes to scientific researches as well. Due to the fact that most people are largely dependent on digital devices nowadays, the potential of information leakage has increased on an unprecedented scale. Take social media for an example, a great many people post their daily event, feelings and thoughts on it and leave their ‘comments’ and ‘likes’ on their friends’ pages. While we are navigating the webs, we also leave a trace for villains to track us down. Moreover, a person can hide his true identity and be anyone he wants in a virtual world. There is no way for us to tell if another person wants to deceive us or not. The real world, by contrast, is more secure and reliable.
