All of a sudden a fleet of Cabal ships, an alien race that look similar to the rhinoceros, commanded by Ghaul wreak havoc on The Last City and capture The Traveler, an extraterrestrial being that is the main source of the guardians power, and kills hundreds of civilians including the guardians. Originally “Guardians” are immortal because of their “Light”, the power that comes from The Traveler. This “Light” can resurrect them from the dead, enhance their physical bodies, and allows them to wield the power of the three elements Solar, Void, and Arc. However, since Ghaul and his army captured The Traveler the Guardians lost their Light and they were exposed to death. Later in the story you learn that Ghaul plans to utilize the Traveler’s Light to make himself immortal and to further conquer the universe without anyone to oppose him. However, The Traveler chooses people who deserve his Light and Ghaul isn’t chosen and this further angers Ghaul so his motives change. Ghaul’s final plan is to take the Light by force and then to destroy the Sun causing the Solar System to die and he will then conquer the galaxy. A public beta launched on August to allow players to try out their game. Furthermore, the beta had another purpose to send Bungie any feedback on their game such as bugs and glitches. Then Bungie would fix their mistakes and even remove/add any features in the game so their players can be satisfied with game. The public beta is a version of the game, but lacks a few features and adds a lot of restrictions. For example, on the beta you can’t play the story mode; however, you can play PvP and play two different strikes. Statistics prove games that release betas are more likely to have an increase on sales on the day of the full game’s release than games that don’t release betas. Although, Destiny 2’s sales on physical copies of the game was less than Destiny 1’s; Destiny 2 had a higher sales on digital copies of the game than most games in the gaming industry.
