Descriptive Essay: The Rocky Horror Picture Show

The rocky horror picture show is more than just a movie, its an interactive experience. As the clock strikes nine, every walk of life in las vegas begins to form a line to wait for the show. Walking down that line, you will come across people pulling up their stockings, adjusting their corsets, wobbling in their 6 inch stilettos, touching up their hair-rising makeup, and some talking with their loved ones. But all share one thing in common- their faces flushed with "antici...pation" waiting for the night to begin. As one waits for the show to commence, three women known as the "Trixies" walk down the line dressed in sparkling red and black selling prop kits one may use for participation, such as noisemakers, party hats, and intructions on how …show more content…
Moments before the show a man dressed as "Eddie" - one of the main characters of the film- begins to yell into a microphone and asks the crowd to spell "Rocky" in unison. After the theme song, Brad begins to seranade his beautiful Janet to "Damn It, Janet", a catchy, almost comedic yearn for her hand in marriage, then shifts to the frightened couple encountering Frank N. Furter's zany mansion. The couple enters the home of the mad scientist, and the audience are asked to rise and join the time warp. "Its just a jump to the left, and then a step to the right", the participants sing as the audience dance along and mouth the words to the bouncy tune.The film goes on as they (Brad and Janet) meet the "unconventional conventionalists", Magenta, Columbia, Riff Raff, and finally the long awaited Frank N. Furter. "I'm just a sweet tranvestite, from transexual, transylvania", Frank N. Furter cries almost seductively as he introduces himself to his naive guests. A night at Frank's is full of suprises, so go see for yourself what happens to sweet Brad and Janet in Frank's not so sweet
