American professional basketball player Derrick Rose was the most electrifying player in the league. In 2008, Rose was the number one draft pick for his hometown Chicago and played for the bulls. Also he won many awards and won the rookie of the year in his first season playing professionally. Within his third season in 2010, he led the bulls with sixty-two wins and becoming the youngest MVP in the NBA history, he is currently the youngest who won the award at the age twenty-two. After making it to the playoffs, Rose, tore is ACL in his left knee and causing the bulls to lose and was beat out in the first round. He wore the No. 25 in honor of Ben “Benji” Wilson, a player who was murdered by a gang member during his senior year. Rose didn’t get to play varsity because of coach Hambric, who never had a freshman play on the varsity team, and that also meant for Derrick to not play. Although he didn’t get to play varsity, he played freshmen and JV games, and he led both the freshman and sophomore to city championships with a record 24-1. After a while coach Hambric wanted to give Derrick a chance to play for them in the state tournament, but Rose declined. The following year Rose had his debut game scoring twenty-five points, seven rebounds, and five steals win over Thornwood High School. Once again Rose led the wolverines with a great record of 30-5 while averaging 18.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 2.1 steals. Rose end up wining his first national award: a Parade All-American third team spot. Later Rose attracted more attention towards him, and was also being named Illinois Mr. Basketball. After achieving so many accolades and being the youngest MVP, Rose has suffered many injuries after his MVP season in 2011. He missed the whole 2012-2013 season after he torn his ACL. He spent months in a rehab trying to recover his left knee and to be healthy to play again. Rose made a return in 2013, the electrifying point guard played a couple games; then end up getting injured again. This time it was his right knee, he torn the meniscus and was out rest of the season. Back in the game in the 2014 season, Rose showing a slow start but doing well. After months into the season, Derrick had another required surgery for his right knee. Rose returned after missing twenty games and he led the bulls back to the playoffs. The bulls beat the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round. Going against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the semifinals, rose hit a three point buzzer beater over the Cavs, causing them a 2-1 lead.
