" when baby came, it was like starting over in the After." Now Amy was not alone in the after, she had someone who became something important and valuable to her. " baby didn't become my family, she became my entire world." Towards the end of the book Dr. Reynolds knows that baby is Amy's only priority and not new hope and that is why he refuses to let Amy leave the ward. " Amy, you and I both know there is only one thing to which you are devoted.... He means baby."
