In a culture that revolves around profit and earnings, we tend to think of happiness as the product of success, measuring our lives by the amount and level of our achievements and goals. Many people think happiness is at the end of the climb and success is just a measure of it. However, I believe this to be completely wrong. Success is not a reflection of happiness, but actually the other way around. One’s happiness is the ultimate measure of success.…

Everyone goes through life trying to be successful; but what actually is success? It is very difficult to define success because it is subjective to the person experiencing it. For instance, to a little child, success could be getting a gold star on his test, for a college student, success could be not failing an exam. Many people, however, just think of success in terms of money. If they cannot buy the same things their neighbors can, they do not see themselves as successful compared to those neighbors.…

Would you be more happy being rich and educated in life? Do you believe that your level of happiness is correlated with the amount of success you have? I agree with the author´s mindset because of both the evidence he includes in the article and the personal evidence I have in my own life. The two main reasons why success does not define long term happiness is because of the effects of fame, power, and money as well as the scarcity mindset.…
