Some people believe physical strength stands for courage. As a matter of fact, physical courage is the most apparent for all of the mental courage that persists it is what is seen by the world. One uses courage to represent an internal, mental state of strength. According to etymonline.com courage has two main roots, one in the Latin language and the other in French, circa 1300 B.C. In Latin, the word cor means heart, and in French, the word corage means heart or innermost feelings. Having these two different origins may have influenced some of the variations of the definition of courage. And depending on where a person comes from they may have been exposed to one, both, or maybe more ways that the word has been used throughout history due to subtle cultural differences.
