There are many different theories on how everything on Earth came into existence. A popular theory is evolution. Evolution is the process where modern organisms originated from prehistoric organisms over time. Over the past 200 years, scientists have studied in great depth the reasoning and process of the creations of humans, plants, and animals. One man who greatly influenced the theory of evolution is Charles Darwin. Darwin traveled by sea studying an observing organisms and fossils all over the world. He took into great consideration what organisms lived where and the circumstances surrounding them. This helped him understand why creatures are what they are and where they are. Darwin believed in evolution through the process of natural selection. Natural selection is where all organisms transform in their physical features and behavioral traits over long periods of time in order to become more successful in their native environment, this is also known as survival of the fittest. It is believed that organisms in the past have lost and gained traits in order to make them more successful in their environment. The modified traits are passed down from generation to generation, or what is also called adaption. Darwin found it that different creatures are similar in some aspects. For example, chickens, turtles, and rats all have significantly similar embryos. With that fact, Darwin came to the conclusion that they share a similar ancestry. Scientists came to the understanding that there were not a sufficient amount of supplies to provide for all members of a species. So in order to survive the members competed for daily necessities, Darwin called this the struggle for existence. An individual’s success at surviving and reproducing is called fitness. An organism’s fitness is determined by their adaptions. Without successful adaptations, many creatures would not be able to survive in their environment and their species would die off eventually. Another process involved in evolution is artificial selection in which humans pick out useful variation given to them by nature. It was also found through studies that new species are able to form from reproductive isolation. Examples of this are if a population is separated by behavior, reproductive times, or geographic barriers that can cause them to differ. Other scientists such as James Hutton and Charles Lyell also contributed to the theory of evolution. The two studied what concerned geography. Hutton claimed Earth was millions of year old because of the slow processes that shaped mountains and valleys. While Lyell stated that the changes occurring in geography presently also occurred …show more content…
God made us humans in His image and created everything else in this world for our survival. I believe God created everything in existence including the sun, the moons, and the planets. God made every single detail of every single thing down to our DNA. God’s knowledge is vaster than we will ever be able to comprehend.
Defense of position
My main defense of my belief is faith. I put my faith in the Bible that what is written is true. It is absolutely bizarre and absurd to think that Earth and everything with it just snapped into existence. It has zero logic behind whatsoever. Also, the Bible greatly correlates with what is happening on Earth and provides many reasonable answers to different things that occur on earth. That is why I believe the earth was created through
