This allowed the play to lead up to the ending, and following in an easy manner. The inciting incident of this play was in the beginning when Claudio confessed his attraction to Leonato’s daughter, Hero, and Benedick speaks about Beatrice, hinting a slight attraction, but not wanting to fully admit it. The major incidents of conflict were when Don John had a plan to set up with Borachia and Margaret to pretend that Hero was cheating on Claudio before they were supposed to get married, and left Don Pedro and Claudio furious. The Climatic incident would have to be when Hero and Claudio are ready to get married, but Claudio declines Hero’s hand in marriage, then embarrasses her in front of everyone calling her a cheater and telling everyone what she did, and shortly after Benedict confesses his love for Beatrice. The Diction seen in this production was a bit hard for me to understand since the wording is from quite some time ago, it took me a while to figure out what the actors were trying to say. But it also let the audience see how the characters were feeling when they would say something and react towards it. There were a few times the background music was played from a radio or sometimes the piano, and when they were changing scene. There was also time where different characters sang, such as Beatrice and in the end the characters danced and sang. Much Ado About Nothing did have some qualities of a fine play being that was intriguing, being that was there so much deception and lies being told, I was so interested in finding out what was going to happen next, also with the good flow and plot, the audience was able to easy follow, and stay updated on the
