The African American inventor or scientist I chose was David Nelson Crosthwait Jr. He was an African American inventor well known for inventing the heating system for the Radio City Music Hall in New York. Crosthwait’s birth date is May 27, 1898 in Nashville, Tennessee. He spent most of his childhood in Kansas City where he went to an all-colored school. Crosthwait started training to become an engineer from a young age. His legal guardians and educators were very encouraging and challenged him to do experiments and to make designs. Crosthwait received a full academic scholarship to a college named Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana after graduating from a high school (class of 1908) in Kansas City He graduated from Purdue
