Our target market for this event would be the communities that are impacted by Cypress College. This would include businesses, families, and schools. The population that we are expecting are from Cypress, Buena Park, La Palma, and surrounding areas. To advertise this event, essentially, we are going to work together with the students and professors at Cypress College and the community. The methods of promoting this event would be through the school’s website, catalog, marquee sign, flyers, clubs, and the AS Center. Other methods to advertise would include community news (Sun Newspaper), social media sites and word of mouth from students, and the Cypress City Hall. Within and around the campus, we will be using the school’s catalog, magazine (The Cypress Chronicle), and website. The flyers will be posted on campus wall’s where most of the students can get information. Furthermore, Associated Students (AS) will help us by asking the professors to announce the event in their classes. At Cypress College there are many different clubs. The International, Business, S.T.E.M., Anime,and etc are all willing to participate in the event. They will have their own booths for the event. The S.T.E.M. club is shorten for science, technology, engineering, and math. The clubs will provide their own separate activities related to the theme (carnival). Cypress College has the marquee sign on Valley View Street, it will be used to put up information regarding Cypress College’s 50th birthday. Among the students, they are going to promote it by informing this event to one another and through their private social media, such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube video. Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter are able to give informations to different kind of people due to the fact that it has chain connections with people. Through Twitter, societies can acknowledge this event through the hashtag and tweets. Additionally, we are going to make an event trailer that will be posted on YouTube. The purpose of the trailer is to inform the community about the event. To manage and control this event, a general outline of volunteers needed is approximately 100 people throughout the day. There are 16 clubs on campus and we are asking for 10 people per club. We will need the amount of people because we have to control the crowd and parking. The rides that we will be renting are Anchors Away, Cyclone, Super Slide, and the Merry-Go-Around. The games that we are renting are Balloon Pop, Skeeball, and Water-Fun. The college will provide other games such as pin the tail on the cow, throwing darts, and eat a strawberry from a whipped cream pie. For this event we will also be renting out Bounce Houses and a 15’ Inflatable Slide. While renting the inflatable products we will also need to rent the generators for the bounce house and for the inflatable slide.
Food trucks will also be at the campus to provide food for the event. The food trucks that we will be involved are: Barracho Tacos, Belly Bombz, Kogi BBQ Truck, and Sweet Lou’s BBQ. The commission that the food trucks makes will be their own revenue because they are participating in the event for Cypress College 's 50th birthday.
