One example is when Curley’s wife was first introduced to us in the book. She was introduced and was thought of as a women who trys getting with everyone. Curley’s Wife was introduced by Steinbeck as a person who was pretty, Has the guy and just messes around with all of the guys. “Yeah Purty… but´…‘ Well she got the eye¨ (page 28). She seems to not know why the men all don’t want to talk to her. You can see throughout the book that they all try not to talk to her so that Curley would not get mad and want to fight them. Throughout this book Curley’s Wife still seems to not understand why the will not talk to her. This makes her mad so she tries even harder to get their attention. This shows that she must be desperate for any type of attention from the guys she can get. She tries talking with him and he is trying not to give in. Lennie tells her “ George says I ain't to have nothing to do with- talk to you or nothing”(pg 86) but she continues to push that she wants to talk. After Lennie talked about his liking for touching soft things Curley’s wife asks if he wanted to touch her hair. He does touch it but when Lennie does not let go then she starts to scream which also lead to Lennie shaking and accidentally killing her. If she was not so desperate she would not have talked to Lennie even though she was slightly scared of him due to him being big. Her screaming lead to Lennie shaking her and telling her ¨ Please don't… Oh please don't do that. George will be mad¨(page 91) and lead to Lennie accidently killing her. My final Reason is because of how she acted in Crooksś room with Lennie, Crooks, and Candy. She is trying hard to get them to talk to her and since she knows that the men must be lonely she tries to take it to her advantage. Curleyś wife is in the doorway talking to the men and asks if anyone has seen Curley and they all say that
