Positive or negative, a cultural icon stands for something more than what they first appear. A cultural icon inspires person. Donald Trump, the leader of the free world and an interesting cultural icon, is a man who raises positive or negative reactions in a lot of different cultures. Other cultural icons include person like Martin Luther King jr., Adolf Hitler, and Mother Theresa. These people, aside from being well known, mean something greater than their original image to certain cultures and people. Also, Jeter never betrayed the organization or the city of New York by getting arrested for a DUI or getting accused of sexual assault or any public dilemma like many of his peers. Despite living in the spotlight for over 25 years, he has not committed a single outlash.(Citation) The loyalty derek Jeter has showed the Yankees makes him a role model to everyone. Some years the Yankees looked like the worst team in Major league Baseball, but Jeter never left the city and its people. Derek Jeter’s part of Pop culture can be reflected in the iconic “Re2pect.” The night of his last home game fans across the country of different races, origins, genders, and sexual orientations tuned in and either tweeted, talked, or wrote “Re2pect”.
