Crime is a major issue in the world, especially today, due to the economic state that the world lies in. Crime in the Country of Mexico entails drug trafficking, murder, Cartels, Law Enforcement Corruption, and violence against journalist and women. Mexican cities such as Juarez face some of the worst crime in the world and an unreal amount of drug distribution. Since the 1980’s, the often violent and dangerous drug trafficking world has moved from Venezuela to Mexico. With that said, Mexico proposes a solution for punishment which cuts down on violence and makes a safer environment for everyone without resorting to the Death Penalty. First, the governments must find corruption within their judicial systems. Second, governments need to strengthen bonds between them and their citizens, which enables them to exemplify the importance of abiding to set policies, decreasing the murder and violent crime tolls. Most important, punishment should protect the country’s general interest and citizens from dangerous people. Since Mexico believes in harsh punishment for crimes, they believe that countries should practice “Guilty until Proven Innocent”. The offender should be offered a chance in a 48 hour period to make a statement. Afterwards, finding fair punishment could be practiced by A. Determining if it is a repeat crime B. If it is, find out if the offender was the main offender or the accessory C. Was the victim subject to a great deal of anguish or physical pain D. Does the offender truly show remorse. Once those questions are answered, a fair punishment to the crime could be dished out. The Mexican Government believes that punishments that are as severe the Death Penalty should not be an option when they inflict suffering, pain, or humiliation to the person subjected to it unless the offender committed an act of treason against the nation during wartime or if they commit a planned/paid murder against somebody, as stated in Article 22 of the Mexican Constitution. While the Death Penalty is supposed to be used as a deterrent to violent crimes, it truly tends to cost more than life in prison because of the complexity of the cases and the number of people involved. It should only be used when the crime committed is not amenable or punishable to any other extent and when there is no other option that could fairly punish the wrongdoer for what they did. In Mexico, approximately 1.2 million children go missing each year. These victims do not announce it due to trepidation and threats from traffickers. The individuals aiding with the harvesting of organs are not easy to find, but the locations of these acts is extremely easy to find. The reason it is difficult to find is because the traffickers will arrange fake documents on behalf of the person getting the transplant. Additionally, they preform the surgeries in places like India, where the laws are not extremely stringent and anyone could get a surgery by forging documents.
