By looking at the poster you can see different kind of elements like color, text, font, images, and different kind of shapes. Starting from the top of the poster the word “CRACK the AXIS” is written with a font bigger than the words “with uninterupted production” (Allen 1). The artist is trying to emphasize that cracking the axis is the major goal of the poster. However, looking at the word “with uninterupted production” you can notice that the spelling of uninterrupted is wrong. If an audience see this mistake he/she might have a confusion, he/she might ask herself how come the artist misspelled that word? Is the artist doing it on purpose to catch the attention of the audiences or doesn’t he know how to spell? Based on the image of the hand on left, you can see a pattern of USA’s flag therefore representing the military government of USA. Consequently, the hand on the right looks like a hand wearing a glove which is used to wield weapons. This represents a hand of a factory worker working in an armory. When you focused on the middle you can see a walnut with flags sticking out of it. This represents the axis power which are the main enemy during World War II. The artist used the nut to symbolize how hard it is to break open or defeat the axis power. The artist also use the nut as double purpose: to symbolize that axis group are “nuts” which means dumb or
