If someone were to collapse in this room right now, would you know what to do? Many of you would know that the person needs CPR, but do you know how to perform it? Cardiopulmonary resuscitation dates all the way back to 1740. Yet today most Americans don't know how it is performed. I have been CPR certified for 3 years now, and today I am going to tell you about the importance of CPR, how it saves lives, and how it is performed.
There are many benefits of knowing How to give someone CPR the correct way. The number one reason being YOU have the opportunity to save someone's life. According to the American Heart Association 100,000- 200,000 lives could be saved every year in the U.S. by CPR if it is administered quickly enough and correctly.
