The government must be able to be held accountable by allowing the citizens to have access to media and political informations. Moreover, the political representatives are “obligated to disclose their income and expenditures” for an accessible investigation when necessary. Transparency protects the people and prevent those in power to easily involve in corruption and other unjustified behaviours. Equality also involves the freedom of speech and opinions to be heard. This can be politically or morally. For instance, political representatives are able to engage with each other and share their own speech and beliefs. According to moral rights, the freedom of being homosexual is not restricted and the participants are able to freely share their beliefs to the public. Moving on, the democratic government exists to satisfy the majority. The majority rules over the minority is an example of governing over the more favoured principle. Whether this could be the legislative bill being passed down or the election, the majority’s vote will be processed. As mentioned previously, democratic government does not represent all voters, only the majority. This being said, we cannot avoid the existence of the illogical voters. Voters are comprised of the educated and uneducated. The educated act accordingly to long term self interests and meticulous ideals. On the other hand, the uneducated will disregard any rational thoughts and vote accordingly to emotion or randomly cast a vote. There are also voters who participate based on charismatic features or appearances. These voters impact the elections and decisions wrongly and possibly increase the negative outcomes. However, this leads to the question to why are there citizens that have no knowledge regarding politics or show interest in it. There consists of people who simply choose to refuse to show interest and education in politics, but also those who cannot afford the education. The citizens with the lack of intellect can possibly be used by politicians as an advantage to achieving their political career.
